Dahlia Vancouver: Boutique Dining at the AZUR Hotel
Dahlia is a beautifully designed restaurant in Downtown Vancouver’s Coal Harbour that blends European charm with modern luxury. While technically a hotel restaurant, it stands confidently on its own thanks to its thoughtful culinary direction.
The room feels cosy and is beautiful to look at, with marble tables and framed artwork. Floral arrangements greet guests at the restaurant entrance, and a grand chandelier is the room’s centrepiece, adding a touch of old-world glamour.
Dahlia’s Street-Level Patio
Dahlia’s concertina glass doors open onto a quaint patio space at street level. Their outdoor patio is a light contrast to the darker interior and is ideal for people-watching in Vancouver’s financial core.

French & Italian Coastal Flavours
Dahlia’s menu, revised in May 2025 by Chef Daniel, draws inspiration from French and Italian cuisines. Most dishes are seafood- and meat-forward, with a coastal theme in line with Vancouver themes.
Standout Dishes
The Mussels ($26) are a must-try, served in a rich broth of shallots, fennel, capers, sambuca, and parsley, accompanied by toasted sourdough. For a lighter option, the Salmon Tartare ($24) is creamy and vibrant, with dill, buttermilk, cucumber, avocado, and salmon roe.
For heartier options, the Short Rib Sandwich ($24) feels more like a burger, featuring slow-roasted short rib on a toasted brioche bun. Or embrace summer with the Lobster Roll ($28)—lobster tail, tartar sauce, and shaved egg yolk. Served with fries for Hamptons-style vibes.
Vegetarian & Vegan Options
The menu caters more to vegetarians than vegans. Vegetarian dishes include a Truffle Risotto ($30) and Tortellini with Black Truffle ($34). Lighter vegetarian side dishes include broccolini and fries, but Dahlia is best suited to those looking for a traditional menu.
Wine Pairings & Cocktails
The drink program at Dahlia is extensive. Guests can choose from a curated cocktail list and an extensive wine and champagne selection.
There are pairings for every dish, and the staff are happy to suggest options on request. During our visit, a crisp Chablis was recommended to complement seafood starters, while a bold red was paired with the meatier mains.
Happy Hour & Offers
Daily Happy Hour happens from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and features small plates and drink specials.
Tip: The happy hour is worth checking out for an accessible introduction to Dahlia. They are one of the only spots in the city that offer Veuve Clicquot champagne during happy hour.
The intimate layout, with small tables, makes it a great place for conversation and connection.
Pricing & Dining Details
Dahlia falls into the upper $$$ range. The restaurant’s pricing aligns with the quality of its ingredients and ambience.
Appetisers start at around $12 (e.g., olives) and go up to $28. Casual plates begin at $24, and mains range from $30 to $60. The tenderloin sits at the top end of the scale.
Dahlia is open daily and serves as the hotel’s breakfast and lunch venue. Breakfast is available from 7:00 am to 10:30 am, lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm, and dinner from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Who Is Dahlia For
Dahlia is upmarket, with a boutique vibe that aligns with the AZUR Hotel’s aesthetic. While weekday visits see mostly hotel guests and business travellers, weekends attract more locals, and the restaurant is livelier. Sometimes the restaurant has live musician performances.
The restaurant is ideal for fancy dinners and romantic date nights. For those looking to extend their evening, Dahlia shares its building with Lavantine, one of Vancouver’s best skybars. It’s worth checking out before or after dinner.
Why Dahlia Earns Its Place on VBR
Dahlia earns its spot for its boutique dining experience in the Coal Harbour district of Downtown Vancouver. Service is polished, with staff ready to suggest pairings. The drinks program is solid, and the seafood starters and homemade desserts shine.
Despite being the AZUR Hotel's lobby restaurant, Dahlia has its own identity, especially on weekends when the energy picks up.
